Evolution of Customer Service
Today, customers are more vocal and enthusiastic about the products or services they utilize. As customer service is expanding important to keep up with the trends to satisfy their needs and expectations. The social web has enabled and empowered the customers. Back in early days, customer service agents were solely focused on answering and resolving existing customer issues during office hours from 9 am to 5 pm, five days a week. Gradually, new systems were developed and introduced, which provided a faster and more cost-effective method for consumers to reach customer service departments. In the early 1990’s the internet came into existence and changed the game forever. Today, the internet is something we cannot live without. The Internet has paved the way for businesses to reach their customers and provide an easier way to offer 24 hours support throughout the year. It was not until 2008 that social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter came into existence and created the n
